ATLANTA – During their 2023 “More Than Just a Week” campaign and to continue their mission in celebrating Black-owned food businesses, Black Restaurant Weeks is presenting its fifth annual NOSH Culinary Showcase at the award-winning State Farm Arena on Thursday, August 10 beginning at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m. for VIP guests) and lasting until 10 p.m.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Black Restaurant Weeks, which shines a spotlight on the richness of Black-owned restaurants and culinary talents right here in Atlanta,” said State Farm Arena Executive Vice President and Chief People, Diversity and Inclusion Officer Camye Mackey. “Through this exciting one-night event, we’re savoring delicious food and uplifting the communities that support us by celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of these remarkable businesses.”
In collaboration with State Farm Arena, Levy Restaurants, Greathouse Trial Law and Ackerman & Co., Black Restaurant Weeks’ culinary showcase in Atlanta provides awareness to diverse culinary talents and the potential to help secure future business opportunities. NOSH will transport guests’ tastebuds to the African diaspora, as they experience hundreds of dishes boasting African, African-American and Caribbean flavors.
As part of the evening, Atlanta’s premiere Black chefs and caterers will exhibit multiple tasting stations and live chef demonstrations in a festive environment filled with entertainment, music and cocktails.
“We’re thrilled to reengage Atlantans with our communal table effect,” said Co-founder of Black Restaurant Weeks Warren Luckett. “We want to bring everyone together through the love of food. African-Americans make up less than 10% of restaurant owners and managers in the U.S. Our mission is to provide a platform that calls for inclusion in the industry and exposes and elevates Black-owned businesses. State Farm Arena’s continual efforts in presenting cultural events to their community may boost and sustain minority ownership within the culinary industry.”
