In the first quarter of the game, Clemson displayed a remarkable shift in performance compared to their previous game against NC State, leading Wake Forest 21-12. The team exhibited greater grit and accuracy, reflecting a renewed sense of determination and power on the court.

The Tigers' resurgence was evident from the outset, with their commanding lead in the first quarter signaling a promising turnaround for the team. Additionally, the symbolic gesture of the Clemson bench sporting military green shirts for Military Appreciation Night added an extra layer of significance to the game.

The Tigers are looking to gain their power back and turn around the season as they are coming off a 7 game-losing streak. Thus, it was important that they come on home court and show the promise once shown by them at the beginning of the season. They came in as 8-12, while Wake Forest was 4-15, so there was really no doubt that the Tigers would lose this ACC battle.

Entering halftime with a comfortable 50-25 lead, Clemson continued to assert their dominance, particularly in rebounding, which proved pivotal in their success in the third quarter. The third quarter started off just as quick, but for Wake Forest, they came up and added 6 points within the first three minutes to Clemson’s 1 point, which came from free throw shots. Both teams showed a number of fouls, but it was more of a hit toward Wake Forest as they had 15 fouls at the beginning of the third quarter that were costly. Clemson trailed with 9 fouls, but both teams could easily change the pace of the game by limiting the fouls.

Despite Wake Forest's efforts to narrow the gap in the third quarter, Clemson maintained their advantage, heading into the final quarter with a substantial lead of 56-39. Wake Forest was fighting to get back into the game; they were faster, a little more accurate with shots, successful at stopping Clemson as they added only 6 points in the quarter, and successful on the free throw line. However, it would be a tough feat for them to get a win at Little John Coliseum unless they turned it completely around and doubled the point they put on the board.

As the fourth quarter began, it was time to determine the outcome of the game. The Tigers were determined to win and were only minutes away from achieving their goal. They needed this win to feel alive again in the ACC. The last minute of the game was intense, with the Tigers fighting hard to secure their lead. Although Wake Forest tried to keep up, they were unable to overcome the Tigers' lead. The Tigers managed to break their seven-game losing streak and successfully secured a win at home with a 79-53 score.
