In partnership with CareSource, the College Park Skyhawks revealed plans for their annual Education Day Game, which CareSource generously presented. The highly anticipated event is scheduled for tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Gateway Center Arena, featuring an exciting matchup against the Westchester Knicks. While limited tickets are still available, CareSource will contribute 250 tickets to students and faculty of Atlanta Public Schools, enriching the educational experience for local youth. Tickets can be secured at cpskyhawks.com/tickets.
Attendees of the Education Day Game will witness an exhilarating basketball matchup and receive specially curated themed workbooks for the game. Additionally, they will be equipped with limited-edition thunder sticks adorned with the logos of both the Skyhawks and CareSource.
Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Janice Koon, Atlanta Hawks Vice President of NBA G League and 2K League Operations, stated, “Our annual Education Day game allows us to help develop the future scholars and stars of tomorrow, and we are looking forward to having a house packed with a record number of students tomorrow morning.”
CareSource will actively participate in the event by sponsoring various in-game elements, including a halftime skills challenge. During this challenge, school administrators will compete for a donation to their school’s mental and physical wellness resources, generously provided by CareSource and the Skyhawks.
Jason Bearden, CareSource Georgia president, expressed the significance of the partnership, stating, "We value our partnership with the Skyhawks and the opportunity to give back to the community. Education Day honors the work of the Atlanta Public Schools and allows the CareSource team to show our appreciation to students and teachers.”
This collaborative effort follows the impactful September 22, 2023, initiative, where the Skyhawks and CareSource donated school supplies at West Clayton Elementary. The donation, part of the “Colli’s Classroom” initiative, equipped all 20 classrooms with over 4,000 essential school items. The event featured the presence of Miles Norris, a rookie two-way player for the Atlanta Hawks, along with Colli Hawk, the Skyhawks mascot, and members of the Skyhawks business team. The CareSource mascot, Cuddles, also attended to spread cheer among the children.
