In tonight's matchup between the LSU Tigers and Georgia State University, LSU will be without Logan Diggs, but they are expected to perform well against the bowl eligible, but struggling Georgia State Panthers. The Panthers, coming off a tough loss to Appalachian State, will rely on redshirt senior quarterback Darren Grainger, who aims for a better showing after a subpar performance last week, when he threw for only 115 yards.

LSU's defense, particularly vulnerable to mobile quarterbacks, faces a challenge against Grainger, a productive runner. Recent struggles against Alabama's Milroe highlight this weakness. However, LSU boasts dual-threat quarterback Jayden Daniels, whose exceptional performance against Florida drew comparisons to Baltimore Raven quarterback Matt Lamar Jackson. Daniels, making history by reaching 12,000 career passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards, sits at #7 on Fox Sports' Heisman watchlist.

Daniels' connection with receivers Brian Thomas, Jr. and Malik Nabers, who had standout performances against Florida, adds firepower to LSU's offense. Daniels aims to widen the gap between him and other Heisman contenders, but defeating Alabama would have significantly bolstered his candidacy.

The Georgia State Panthers have an opportunity to make waves by containing Daniels on the ground and capitalizing on LSU's defensive weaknesses. Success hinges on limiting big plays, particularly from LSU's dynamic receiver Nabers. Scoring early and exploiting LSU's defensive vulnerabilities could be the Panthers' key to an upset. As the game unfolds, Daniels' Heisman hopes may sway based on his performance and the Panthers' ability to challenge LSU's strengths and exploit their weaknesses.
