NFL Releases The List of Prospects Attending the 2022 HBCU Combine
Updated: Jan 8, 2022

Just a day after hearing about Florida A&M superstar defensive back Markquese Bell and only hours after hearing of Southern Jaguars Star Ja'Tyre Carter being invited to the NFL Combine, the NFL has released the list of the players attending the HBCU Combine in Mobile, Alabama. The HBCU combine will be held Friday, January 28 - Saturday, Jan 29th, at the University of South Alabama Jaguar Training Center in Mobile, Alabama. The event will include HBCU stars like QB Aqeel Glass of Alabama A&M, Jackson State Wide Receiver Keith Corbin, and Southern Jaguars QB, Ladarius Skelton. Both Glass and Skelton will also be featured in the HBCU Legacy Bowl and therefore will have multiple chances to perform in front of scouts. According to Doug Williams, initiatives like the HBCU Legacy Bowl and the HBCU Combine were put in place after zero HBCU players were drafted in the 2021 NFL draft. The hope is that the NFL's efforts to put more HBCU talent in front of scouts will result in an increase in HBCU players seeing their NFL dreams realized.
