The College Park Skyhawks (5-3) faced a narrow defeat against the Westchester Knicks (7-2), concluding with a score of 82-79 on Friday at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park, marking the special occasion of 'Education Day presented by CareSource.'

Seth Lundy, the Hawks' two-way guard/forward, emerged as the leading scorer, contributing 16 points (6-16 FG, 2-7 3FG) and securing eight rebounds. Other notable contributors in double figures included Chris Silva (14 points), Tyson Etienne (12 points), Jarkel Joiner (12 points), and Brandon Randolph (10 points).

During the first half, the Skyhawks demonstrated a strong defensive performance, limiting the Knicks to 43 points, the second-lowest conceded in any first half this season (41 on Nov. 29), leading to a 46-43 advantage at halftime.

The second half continued as a low-scoring affair, with the Skyhawks holding the Knicks to 39 points, the second-fewest allowed in any half this season. Despite their efforts, the Knicks secured crucial stops in the closing moments, ultimately prevailing over the Skyhawks with a final score of 82-79.

Despite the loss, the Skyhawks achieved a franchise record by holding their fifth consecutive opponent to fewer than 110 points.

Obadiah Noel led the Knicks with 16 points, while former Atlanta Hawk Brandon Goodwin contributed 11 points and distributed 10 assists.

The Skyhawks and Knicks will wrap up their two-game series on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Gateway Center Arena. Following this matchup, the Skyhawks will host the Long Island Nets for the first time this season on the subsequent day, with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
