The Connecticut Sun Announce 2023 'Games for Good' Recipients

--Program to Benefit Unashamed Inc., Petit Family Foundation, and The Arc Eastern Connecticut--

Uncasville, CT (May 15, 2023) - Today, the Connecticut Sun announced Unashamed Inc., Petit Family Foundation, and The Arc Eastern Connecticut as its recipients for the organization's 2023 "Games for Good" program.

The free program, now in its second year, benefits select local non-profits each year in the state of Connecticut through the purchase of tickets to Connecticut Sun games and will provide exposure to those non-profits throughout the 2023 season. Sun fans will be able to purchase tickets all season long through “Games for Good” and a portion of each ticket will benefit the chosen recipients. This year, the Sun approached the program differently and gave fans the opportunity to nominate organizations they wanted to support, and out of the 55 nominations sent in, Unashamed, Inc.; Petit Family Foundation; and the Arc Eastern Connecticut were selected.

"Unashamed Inc. is humbled and honored to be chosen as a recipient for the Games for Good program," said Founder, Sana Cotten. "We are grateful that such an amazing organization will be helping us continue to do the work we are so proud of for the families within our communities and around the state."

"The Petit Family Foundation is thrilled to be presented with a Games for Good award," Petit Family Foundation President, William A. Petit, Jr. MD. remarked. "We are ecstatic not only because the funds will allow us to further our mission, as the demand grows greater each year for the educational, protective and chronic disease services we often fund, but also because we are also huge women’s basketball and WNBA fans!"

“The Connecticut Sun’s Games For Good initiative is a wonderful program; it helps bring additional resources to nonprofits and it also demonstrates the Sun’s commitment to being a true advocate for those who are most in need. The people we support are among the most vulnerable in the region. Community partners like the Sun truly help us further our mission of ensuring that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have as much choice as possible in where they live, in their employment, and in their community involvement, as they work towards increased independence.” - Diane Aubin, President of our Board of Directors for the Arc Eastern Connecticut

"The Connecticut Sun is really excited to be able to honor these three local organizations for all the hard work that they do to make our community a better place. We hope that Unashamed Inc., the Petit Family Foundation, and the Arc Eastern Connecticut will use the donations raised from our 'Games for Good' program to continue to uplift and positively impact our community members, while having meaningful and enjoyable experiences at Connecticut Sun games this season." - Morgan Tuck, Connecticut Sun Director of Franchise Development and Assistant General Manager
