The Grambling State University Football Team held its annual Black and Gold Game this past Saturday. This year's game was unique in that it featured a draft, team ownership opportunities, and celebrity NFL coaches.

The G-Men Nation-Team Black and Kim Diemert-Team Gold were the two team owners that competed against each other in the game. The ownership opportunities allowed fans to invest in their favorite team and show their support for the players and the program. The player draft also added an extra layer of excitement.

Celebrity NFL coaches Marvin Lewis and Mike Zimmer, and Coach Hue Jackson and the GSU football staff added to the excitement. Their presence added a level of prestige to the game and demonstrated the vision of Hue Jackson bringing his NFL brethren to share and mentor the G-Men this weekend.

The atmosphere was electric on the field, and the game was intense, with both teams playing hard and leaving it all on the field. The game had many highlights, including great QB play by Myles Crawley and some stellar catches by WR Lyndon Rash. Wide Receiver and South Alabama transfer Naeshon Dickerson also had a great game connecting with Crawley. All three players look to be on pace to make a huge impact this fall. Julian Calvez, the Gold Team's Quarterback, played a key role in leading his team to victory by scoring a touchdown. Running Back Kellon Elder also played a significant role, scoring a touchdown after one of the longer runs in the game. The game ended after QB Quarterious Hawkins, the second quarterback for the Black Team, connected with Lyndon Rash in the fourth quarter for a touchdown. The Black team then attempted to win the game with a two-point conversion. However, the Gold Team defenders managed to stop the Black Team's TE Cavadis Kinghten from getting into the endzone for the two-point conversion, which secured the victory for the Gold Team. The final score was 27 to 28.

Ultimately, it was a great day for Grambling State University football, and all who attended left with a sense of pride and excitement for the upcoming season.
